First time in Greece, the Relic of St. Barnabas [video]

Barnabas, Founder of the Church of Cyprus, the Holy Monastery of Kykkos.
The Relics were welcomed by his Eminence Metropolitan of Ilion, Acharnes and Petersburg mr. Athenagoras in the propylaea of the Sanctuary of the Church of St Dimitrios Petersburg, πλαισιούμενος by a multitude of clergy of the Holy Metropolis.
To be mentioned that the Relic was transferred for the first time in Greece, by Fr. Friday Papamichail and archimandrite. Jerome Πυλιώτης.
The Head of the Church e. Emmanuel Serbian, inter alia, stated: “For the first time come to the Holy Metropolis of the Relics of the Holy Apostle Barnabas the holy.M. Kykkos.”
Also the e. Emmanuel added: “it Is a great blessing for us, we are all very happy that the Remains of the Founder of the Church of Cyprus came today in our parish”.
Then the Relics were placed in the centre of the Church for blessing and veneration of the faithful and celebrated the great great vespers officiated by his eminence. Metropolitan of Ilion, mr. Athenagoras.
The Word of god preached by the Metropolitan of Ilion, who on the occasion of the advent of the Τιμίας Hands of the Holy Apostle Barnabas was mentioned in the Holy Relics of the Saints, emphasizing that: “The Sacred Relics we venerate and not worship because it is Θεοφόρα”.

Also his Eminence added: “God created man to honor the creation that he made”.
Finally to be noted that a multitude of faithful flocked to the Church to venerate the holy relics, while the church will be open every day from 7 in the morning until 8 in the evening, until the 24th of February, while the departure of Τιμίας Hands of Of. Barnabas will take place on 25 February in the morning.
