The package of 7.4 billion euros is preparing to support its economy, the Financial Times said today (13.3.2024). This is because European Union leaders fear that the conflicts in Gaza and Sudan may increase economic problems in Egypt. The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leien will go to Cairo on Sunday (17.3.2024) with the prime ministers of Greece, Italy and Belgium to finalise and announce an agreement, according to the paper.
