Farmers: Payment of 76m euros on Tuesday and Wednesday by ELGA

Following a collaboration between the Minister of Rural Development and Food Lefteris Avgenakis and Andreas Lycurenza’s president, new information on damage in 2023 is announced. Specifically, tomorrow, Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 12:00, is paid by the ELGA 60m euros for allowances for the year 2023. This payment has been paid over a period of two months of EUR 130 million to producers and is intended to repay all compensation due by the end of the first half of 2024. On Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 12:00, they are paid through the ELGA, by the State Aid, 16m euros, as compensation payments for crop-capital crops, mainly olive crops, for the disasters suffered by the fiery mud in summer 2023, in the Regional Units, Dodecanese – Rhodes, Magnesia and Evros. Minister for Rural Development and Food Lefteris Avgenakis said: “HPAT and ELGA justify farmers’ expectations. With consistency and systematic effort, we keep the timetables and the payments we make continue to be on the side of our producers.”
