Exceptional financial aid to municipalities announced by the German government

the Interior minister, Panos Skourletis, from the village of Paranesti in the Regional Unit of Drama, second station of the tour in the regions of eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
During a press conference the minister of the Interior from the seat of the municipality of Paranesti, in the mountain of Drama, stressed that a total of eighty-five municipalities across the country will be allocated in the amount of eur20, 000, 000 as special financial assistance. Mr. Skourletis underlined that each municipality will receive a minimum amount as an emergency economic aid, which will not be less than 170 000 eur and the rest of the 5.5 million euro will be distributed depending on the population of each municipality, the basis of the last census. For example, the two mountain ranges on the least-developed municipalities of the Regional Unity of Drama, Paranesti and the Kato Nevrokopi, you’ll take as a financial aid the total amount of 200.000 euro.
Special reference was made by minister of the Interior and the major issue of υποστελέχωσης of the municipalities, mainly in the department of technical services, with the result that they don’t have the possibility for the submission of full technical proposals for the inclusion of projects in the NSRF. Mr. Skourletis announced the establishment of a new mechanism, which will be staffed by engineers and will work υποστηριχτικά to the municipalities, giving them the possibility of elaboration of technical studies, which are necessary for projects for submission to the NSRF. As noted, in this way will permanently solve the problem of υποστελέχωσης and so all the municipalities, even the smaller ones, will be able equally to participate in the submission of project proposals for funding.
For contract, asked to be a bipartisan consensus when the issue of legislation promoted by the government come to a vote in the House, in order in this way to overcome the issue of one-to-four, i.e. one new recruitment for every four retirements in the Public.
Finally, the minister referred to the wide consultation which started with all the mayors and representatives of Local Authorities for the institutional organisational changes planned by the government for better and more efficient functioning of the Government.
