Eurovision 2024: Report on ABBA, 50 years after winning the competition

This year 50 years of their celebration victory, in her singing competition and an anniversary exhibition is opened in Brighton City, England. It was April 6, 1974, when in Brighton, the Swedish group, ABBA, went first in the Eurovison competition with the song “Waterloo”. In the same town that the band “lifted” opens an exhibition entitled “Abba: One Week in Brighton” at Brighton Museum and aims to “revive the enthusiasm of the week that led the band to fame”. Personal stories of those found there, sets, souvenirs and photographs will be presented in the exhibition, said a representative of the Museum to the BBC. The exhibits include the set of drums found for the band at the last minute and a feather from the evening dress of final presenter Katie Boyle. “The 1974 Eurovision competition was an important cultural moment and it is wonderful to collectively celebrate the memories of the Abba victory and the role Brighton played,” said curator of the Jody East exhibition. The exhibition “Abba: One Week in Brighton” will be inaugurated on 28 March and will last until 4 August.
