European prize in Crete for policies that are implemented in vulnerable population groups

The prize, “a Candidate Reference Site” (Candidate Reference Site) in the context of the… events of the European Conference on Innovation for Active and Healthy Ageing (European Summit on Innovation on Active and Healthy Ageing), received the scientists-representatives of the University of Crete, the Company Disease ALZHEIMER Heraklion Solidarity, the University Hospital, the FORTH, the Region of Crete, the 7th RAL, the Municipality of Heraklion and the Medical Association of Heraklion. The prize was awarded at a special event of the European Commission in Brussels and was received on behalf of the scientific group “HERAKLION – PLACE REFERENCE” (Reference Site of Heraklion), the representative of the Region of Crete in Brussels, Dimitris Androutsos.
The Region of Crete, as is well known, supports every effort which aims at the improvement of the conditions, the quality of life of residents and particularly of vulnerable groups of the population.
In the event Reference Site Awards were awarded: 74 total european areas for their action, the initiatives and the perspectives they present, in terms of Active and Healthy Ageing.
