ELSTAT: 5.6% increase in building materials in February 2024

Building prices increased above 5.6% overall in February 2024, according to it as valuations were recorded in all individual categories of materials, with the exception of diesel and electricity. In particular, as indicated in ELSTAT’s data, prices have moved up to the following categories of materials: Bricks (15.6%), Safety glass (10.9%), Plastic tubes, synthetic, inocement (8.6%), Heating bodies (7.6%), Copper ducts (7.5%), Marble plates (7.5%), Built-in cabinets (7.1%), Parquet (6.7%), Cement (6.3%), General floor tiles, wall (6.3%), Aluminium hollows (6.1%), Made concrete (4.9%), Plastic, acrylic, water (4.8%), Windows of wood (4.3%), Internal doors (4%), Copper tubes (3.9%) and Iron armament (3%). On the contrary, prices were reduced to: Electricity (1.1%) and Diesel Motor Oil (0.7%). As ELSTAT announced, the general index of prices for new housing building materials showed a 5.6% increase in February 2024 compared to the corresponding index of February 2023, compared to a 10.1% increase observed when comparing the corresponding indicators in 2023 to 2022. At the same time, the general index showed an increase of 0.6% in February 2024 compared to the January 2024 index, compared to a rise of 0.7% in comparison to the corresponding months in 2023.
