Double earthquake 5.7 and 5.6 Richter open to Ilia – It became felt in Athens

Two strong earthquakes over 5 Richters occurred in the Ionian Sea shortly after 9 on Friday morning (29.3.2024) off Ilia. The first earthquake was 5.7 Richter and the second – by one minute – was the same size. The epicenter is located near the Trofades off Ilia. At 9:11 there was the first earthquake of 5.7 Richter with a focal depth of 21.4 km, while the epicenter is 14 km east of the Stroads. At 9:12 there was a second earthquake of 5.7 Richter with a focal depth of 21.5 km and a focus of 25 km east of the Stroads. The vibration was particularly strong and felt in Athens.
