Dimitris Linos, former Supreme Court prosecutor, died

He left life on Thursday (21.03.2024) his former Supreme Court Dimitris Linos with the Board of Directors of the Union and Prosecutors (EDO) expressing his sorrow at his loss. At the same time, the EDE expresses its warm condolences to the entire family of Dimitris Linos and especially to his son, Chairman of the Trimel Council of Directors of the Athens Court of First Instance, this year Christopher Linos. As the EDE notes in its announcement “the late Demetrius Linos with his knowledge and courtesy contributed in his own special way to the daily struggle of the award of the Law.” Dimitrios Linos was born in 1939 in Chios, where he conducted his circular studies. In 1957 he was admitted to the Law School of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, while in January 1967 he entered the judiciary, successful first in the competition concerned and was appointed Paredros at the Athens Court of First Instance. In July 2002 he was selected by the cabinet vice president of the Supreme Court, while in July 2003 he was elected Attorney of the Supreme Court. On 1 July 2006 he left the judiciary due to completion of the age limit, having served Justice for 40 years. In 1975 she pioneered, with other colleagues, the reopening of the Union of Judges and Prosecutors and was elected a member of the Board of Directors and its Bureau. He was a member of scientific and cultural companies and had taken part in legislative committees and scientific conferences in Greece and abroad. He had been honored by the President of the Republic with the Senior Brigadier General of the Order of Honor, by the Ecumenical Patriarch with the Cross of St Andrew and by the President of Lithuania with the highest medal of Culture and Sports. He was married and father of three children of Zannis, Christoforos, who is Ephetes, and Stylianos – Marcellus. The exodus sequence will be held on the coming Wednesday, 27-3-2024, (11 a.m.) at Kifisia Cemetery (Holy Church of St. Trifonos).
