Delos: Interventions to upgrade archaeological site and museum

Accession to the programme “South Aegean 2021 – 2027” of the second phase of the interventions to upgrade the archaeological site and its museum, signed by the regional governor of South Aegean, George Hatzimarcos. Specifically, the Act “Delos – Open Museum. Upgrading interventions in the archaeological site and museum – Phase II, are part of the programme “South Aegean 2021 – 2021” and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The public expenditure co-financed is EUR 4,325,714,22. “Delos has been one of the most important places in the ancient Greek world. Today it is an extensive, uniquely proclaimed archaeological site, integrated into the UNESCO World Heritage List.” the South Aegean Region says in an announcement The second phase of the project includes the maintenance and promotion of selected monuments of the archaeological site and the qualitative upgrading of the visitor’s experience in the museum areas. More specifically, the archaeological site provides for the following interventions: – Restoration, fixing, restoration and promotion in: Temple Apollo, Holy, Palaestra Granitis, House of Pervasive. – Architectural member classification platform and access route for the Holy. – Design of visitor routes in the Holy, in the District of Theatre and Lake. – Marking on the shaped routes and information signs on the highlighted monuments. – Supply and installation of a tangible map. – Design of a new construction depot for the housing of the Service machinery. The archaeological museum provides – Final repair work in the shell of the building (fire safety doors, northern ethrium frames), and completion of configuration/equipment/renovation of museum spaces (health areas, electrical installations, shading systems, entrance furniture). Report upgrade. – Preparation of a final study of the promotion of the Holy – Broille brochure. – Information material for the dissemination of the results of the Act (Greek and English). In addition, costs for the organisation of the site and the operation equipment of the project are included. The expiry date of the Act is 30/06/2028. The beneficiary of the project is the Ministry of Culture – Ephorate of Antiquities of Cyclades.
