Crete: The parents of the 33-year-old who was killed by a naval flare – What the victim’s father says

The father of the 33-year-old who was killed in , speaks to newsit.gr a few hours after his son died. In black O, in the places where the wrongful Manolis lived… “We don’t know anything. Neither if it was a sea flare, nor if it was a flare, nor anything,” says the 33-year-old’s father who lost his life in Agios Nikolaos in Crete, on the last Sunday of Halloween. The father, inconsolable, reports: “We suck, how should we be? We had lunch with our child at noon together and then he went home and we didn’t know what he would do afterwards.” As the unfortunate 33-year-old’s father tells us: “They have now taken his two friends to testify.” Early in the morning, when the tragic news, close relatives and friends of the victim were known, they went to the unfortunate 33 – year – old’s home to stand by the family. It all happened on the evening of Sunday, March 17, when the 33 year old, along with two other friends, had fun at a central point in the area of Agios Nikolaos in Crete. According to the RES – ICM, the young man was killed when a flare that had lit exploded, causing extensive abdominal injuries. ‘He was immediately transferred to St. Nicholas’ Hospital, but he expired shortly after midnight. In the same update it is pointed out that police officers arrested the two men who were with the 33-year-old, while at the point a number of the flares that had already been detonated and burned were detected and seized. As police sources in RES – ICM reported, the unfortunate man with the other two of his peer friends had already fired about 20 naval flares. The 33-year-old wanted to light one more, but probably due to ill-treatment, he burst into it and specifically into the abdomen. From the police autopsy at the point of the tragedy 10 sparked flares were found and seized while one of the two friends of the unfortunate young man delivered to the authorities two more.
