A record number of new cases of covid-19 were announced today for Tokyo, which is currently hosting the Olympic Games.
Tokyo, which is in a state of emergency for the fourth time since the pandemic began, announced 4.166 new infections today – a record number.
The explosion of cases has started to burden the health system, while from August 2 new emergency measures are in force which will remain until August 31.
