Renewable materials account for 32% of UltraContact NXT. These include resins based on residues from the paper and wood industry. On tyres, resins improve adhesion, while Ultra Contact NXT contains silicate from rice bark ash. Rice barks are an agricultural waste that can be converted into silicon through a new process that consumes less energy.
