Christos Spirtzis: ‘The failure to implement the Convention ‘717’ is not linked to the Tempe accident

He comes back to the issue of the one day after his request for a preliminary inquiry into his face in the context of the investigation of criminal responsibilities for the horrible railway accident, the former Minister of Infrastructure and Transport. “There is no causal link between the non-execution of Convention 717 and the tragedy of the Tempes,” said Christos Spirtzis. “I have said too many times that the completion of a project, any project, cannot be linked to any accident. This does not mean, however, that it should not be investigated,” he said in an interview with the radio station “Real FM”. He added, however, that “as soon as the contract had not been completed, there had to be additional measures and no action had been taken”. Spirtzis once again expressed the view that “for what has been done in recent years on the railway and for what has happened in connection with the Tempom crime we must all shed plenty of light. Nothing left in the gray zone, in the shade,” he noted.
