Children’s Beauty transforms thanks to the Kaizen Foundation

‘ Keep an eye on the child,” says Lefteris Papadopoulos. Children always symbolize hope. Health personnel in many hospitals struggle under adverse conditions in order to provide the best level of care possible. Many times they do what is humanly possible or even transcend it in order to manage to serve their patients. Surely, however, no matter how much effort one makes when the infrastructure does not serve, there is indeed suffering. When you see this hardship suffered by children who have great battles, then you can only feel a tightness in the chest. In recent years, at the General Hospital of Children, many times voices have been heard, talking about major problems, which make the lives of staff and children difficult. There were voices, which even caused a risk that the hospital would cease its operation. Watch out, we are talking about a hospital, which serves every year tens of thousands of children and their families from North, Eastern Attica and not only. Fortunately, those voices were heard by someone. The reason for the Kaizen Foundation, a new utility, created and funded exclusively by Kaizen Gaming. What did the Kaizen Foundation do? The first action, in which he decided to go ahead, is a major donation, one of the most important received by the National Health System, of EUR 3.8 million. This money will be used to transform the Pentelis Children’s Hospital through the largest renovation of its facilities in the last 80 years. The project includes the renovation of the operating rooms, which constitute the “heart” of the hospital, the first floor clinics and the ground floor, the addition of fire safety systems, as well as the redevelopment of the outer space. This will effectively address operational problems that have afflicted staff and patients. At the same time, changes will be made required by national legislation, such as the transfer of the pharmacy to the ground floor and the seamless access of the disabled to all hospital premises. “Standard of the National Health System” Somehow, the Pentelis Children will be converted into one of the country’s leading hospitals. Work will take place in four distinct phases aimed at completion at the end of 2024 and without disturbing the continued operation of the hospital. In this giant effort and donation, the Kaizen Foundation has helped the health ministry and hospital administrative staff. Through what the leadership of the Ministry said during the opening ceremony, one can better understand the importance of the work. Typically, the Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiades, stated: “Thanks to this work doctors and nursing staff will have a modern space to exercise their function and their young patients and parents decent conditions of nursing in a place in Penteli, which will really after the works will be a jewel of the National Health System”. For his part, the State Secretary for Health, Marios Themistocleous, set the Kaizen Foundation as an example for imitation: “Co-operation with Kaizen Gaming and the Kaizen Foundation is an example of how private initiative can contribute positively to improving public health services provided to our children. We warmly thank them for their contribution and support to the continued efforts of the Greek Government to upgrade the National Health System.” What to expect from Kaizen Foundation Kaizen Foundation is the next step in the field of social responsibility for Kaizen Gaming, one of the largest GameTech companies in the world, which is based in Greece. Its ultimate objective is to carry out actions with a large social footprint and support non-profit organizations in all countries where Kaizen Gaming is present. As Kaizen Gaming Co-founder and CEO George Daskalakis said: “The Foundation’s start-up comes with the greatest donation we’ve made to date, which will radically change the lives of children, families and staff in Pentelis Children”. This is only the principle for the public benefit agency, which has already undertaken a renovation of a pediatric hospital wing in Pitesti, Romania, while in 2024 actions will follow in Malta, Portugal and Bulgaria. Having as key pillars of action the Society, Education and the Environment, the Kaizen Foundation seeks to be a body of positive changes for every aspect of human life and lay the foundations for a more sustainable and inclusive future. The President of the Kaizen Foundation will be Panos Constantopoulos , Vice President of Stoiximan, who notes that: “The establishment of the Kaizen Foundation allows us to carry out actions on a larger scale, which will have an impact at international level. It is a great thrill that we start from Greece and from the General Hospital of Children Pentelis.”
