C. Λιλλήκας: “The President is to abandon the illusions of a solution in 2016, and to take action”

The only solution possible within the 2016 is a solution of Turkish standards, says the President of the Alliance of Citizens Giorgos Λιλλήκας, calling the President of the Republic to…
abandon the illusions and to take actions to prevent Turkish plans.
In a statement today before the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee of Foreign affairs with the Ambassadors of Cyprus abroad, mr. Λιλλήκας commenting on an article in the newspaper a Liberal”, he said, he presented fearsome data on islamisation of the occupied territories, as there are now more mosques than the number of schools and the number of occupied villages.
As mr Λιλλήκας this is part of the tactics of the Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, which has applied for the first time as Mayor of Istanbul and later as prime Minister, in an effort to alter not only the demographic character of the island and the cultural, and the religious and to complete the effort for annexation of the occupied territory.
“All of this is happening at a time when some insist that the feasibility of the solution before the end of 2016,” he said noting that with this data and the policy of Erdogan, the only solution that is possible before the end of the year is solution to Turkish standards and which will give the Turkey a lot more than the annexation of the occupied territory.
Mr. Λιλλήκας said that what he expects is that the President of the Republic but others will abandon their illusions and at the same time will take specific actions in order in a timely manner to prevent and to overturn the plans of Ankara and to avoid a repetition of the phenomenon with the transfer of water from the Turkey when the reaction from the cypriot side came just two days before the opening of the pipeline.
Economy
In terms of the economy, mr. Λιλλήκας said that at a time when the cypriot economy is in huge need of liquidity and movement of capital to be able to move the bazaar, the first half of the year the Government spent just 20-22% of their development budgets, and that in the case of co-financed has spent a mere 8% of approved budgets.
This, as said, shows a completely wrong perception of the Government about how it could develop the economy, adding that it is not enough to chasing foreign investors as there are european funds that are available and is the wrong approach of the Government is sacrificing tens of million euro from the european funds, in order to save a few million.
“We finally have the Government to break away from the narrow accounting view of the economy from the austerity policy and utilize all of the approved funds character development so that we can finally be created investment, albeit small, to support businesses to create new jobs,” he concluded.
