(Title) The center-right government of Romania has decided today to raise VAT from 19% to 24% in order to reduce the budget deficit and it can take a new dose of loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), announced by Prime Minister Emil Boc.
This decision comes one day after the annulment by the Constitutional Court of Romania reductions in pensions by 15% as predicted by the austerity measures presented the Government of Boc.

Shortly after that decision, the IMF announced that it is postponing planned for Monday, June 28 meeting which will be releasing a new installment loan to Bucharest.
” The government decided to raise the VAT by 5 points, “Bock said during a press conference.
” In these circumstances, the agreement with the IMF will continue, “he added pointing out that the IMF meeting scheduled for Wednesday .
Bucharest has pledged to the IMF and the European Union to reduce its budgetary deficit to 6.8% of GDP, against 7.2% in 2009.
