Bank of Greece: Primary government budget surplus decreased by 1.5 billion euros in the first two months 2024

In the two months of January – February 2024 on a cash basis, compared to the corresponding period last year, according to a report from the Bank of Greece. The primary surplus of the State Budget this year was €2.1 billion compared to € 3.7 billion in the respective period last year. As regards the cash flow of the central administration, it had a surplus of EUR 346 million, compared to an surplus of EUR 1,299 billion in the corresponding period of 2023. As the TTE reports, this development reflects the increase in the revenue of the regular budget, which was set at EUR 10,696 billion, from EUR 9,613 billion last year. With regard to the expenditure of the regular budget, these amounted to €9,552 billion, from €9,524 billion in January – February 2023.
