Austria: Ralph Rangnik “cut off” three players from the national for singing homophobic slogans

Ralph Rangnik put out of the national three football players of Rapid Vienna, for singing slogans, thus actively supporting a non-discriminatory football. National Austrian coach Ralph Rangnik decided to “cut” from his options for friendly games with Slovakia and Turkey, Guido Burgstaler, Marco Grull and Niklas Hendle, due to homophobic slogans. More specifically, Rapid Vienna’s three football players sang homophobic slogans at the expense of their opponents, after the recent victory over Austria Vienna. Let us mention that the disciplinary body of the Austrian Bundesliga has imposed different prohibition penalties on these players – in this particular scandal two others – to bring about the specific “punishment” by Rangnik. “ It’s something that I won’t tolerate in a team that I’m a coach, either a club or here on the national team. Everything we support in the national team is on the other side of the scale and I told the kids on the phone. These players must consider this issue and understand what it means for people to be insulted and victims of discrimination in public and in this way,” the Austrian federal technician said about his decision.
