Government in Vienna defends relaxation and again calls on population to be vaccinated

Despite the spread of the most contagious “Delta” mutation in Austria, the federal government in Vienna is defending the recent easing of restrictive measures to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.

Reiterating the call for vaccination, Sebastian Kurtz clarified that “vaccination remains voluntary”, no one is forced, he does not criticize anyone, but “as federal chancellor, I am happy for all those who are protected”

Austria passed the third wave better than other countries, he said, noting that six of the country’s nine L .nder did not need a lockdown, and in terms of numbers, Austria is in the top three in the European Union.

For his part, Health Minister Wolfgang Mukstein said 40% of the population had already been fully vaccinated, equivalent to 45% of the population wishing to be vaccinated, and asked those who had already received a dose of Covid vaccine to complete their vaccination.
