Audi Q6 e-tron: Impressive performance and increased autonomy

Based on the new PPE platform, Q6 e-tron is the next technological leap in its premium electrical mobility. Audi Q6 e-tron is the first production model based on Premium Platform Electric (PPE), marking the next step in transforming the company into an electric premium provider. The new model is characterized not only by impressive performance, but also by the new larger charging capabilities and increased autonomy. Audi Q6 e-tron embodies Audi’s typical SUV style with the further refined design language of the e-tron family. At the same time there is new design philosophy inside and innovative technologies that make their debut. Audi Q6 e-tron quatro and SQ6 e-tron will be available for ordering from March and the first deliveries will begin in the summer of 2024. Impressive autonomy and enhanced charging capabilities Powerful, compact and highly efficient electric motors, as well as a new technology lithium ion battery, consisting of twelve modules and 180 prismatic cells with a total gross capacity of 100 kWh (94,90 kWh beneficial) ensure autonomy up to 625 km. During the launch, two four-wheeled versions will be available, while following – depending on the market – new efficient models with rear-wheel drive, designed for even greater autonomy. Audi Q6 e-tron has a combined performance of 285 kW and for 0-100 km/h takes 5.9 seconds. The SQ6 e-tron with a combined performance of up to 380 kW takes just 4.3 seconds for the 0-100 km/h. Their maximum speeds are 210 and 230 km/h respectively. Thanks to the 800 volt technology and the maximum charging capacity of 270 kW in basic equipment, Audi Q6 e-tron can obtain an additional 255 km autonomy in just ten minutes in a DC speed charger. Sports design with new aesthetic approach Audi Q6 e-tron is placed in the premium middle class and with a length of 4.771 mm, a width of 1.993 and a height of 1,648 mm, offers top spaces for passengers and luggage. The 2.899 mm wheelbase also ensures plenty of leg space in the second row of seats. Designally, Audi Q6 e-tron has perfect proportions thanks to the Premium Platform Electric platform, with the large wheelbase and small projectors creating a particularly impressive set. The closed Singleframe mask in silver or shiny black combined with high-tech lights create a very special look. The back consists of a mixture of sporty elegance and power with the clean lines and the single lit strip giving Q6 e-tron quatro the confidence that characterizes Audi. Global lead in lighting technology With Q6 e-tron, Audi begins a new chapter in lighting technology. In the case of second generation OLED digital rear lights, the six OLED panels with a total of 360 independent sections create a new image every ten millisecond using a specially developed algorithm. On the front, active digital light signature is created by the interaction of algorithm with twelve segments that lower and down and down. With a total of up to eight digital signatures owners can personalise their Q6 e-tron depending on their wishes. New design philosophy starting with Q6 e-tron The interior of Audi Q6 e-tron is more oriented than ever to the needs of the user. The panoramic Audi MMI screen and the MMI passenger screen form a visually clear digital image, while the comfortable living room stands out for luxury quality and extended use of recycled materials. The trunk has 526 litres of storage space or 1,529 litres with the rear seats folded. Additional 64 litres of storage space are available in the frank (front trunk) under the front hood. New electronic architecture from the future The new electronic architecture E3 1.2, (the name E3 means End-to-End Electronic Architecture), is based on a new digital platform with five high performance computers, which control all vehicle functions, from information and entertainment systems to semi-autonomous driving at later stages of evolution. The E3 1.2 architecture debuts on Audi Q6 e-tron and is designed to be used in all future models of the company. Digital Stage: New idea of imaging and operation The new Audi Q6 e-tron features a fully connected and digital interior. The thin, freely positioned panoramic Audi MMI screen has curved design and OLED technology and consists of the 11.9 inch Audi virtual cockpit and the 14.5 inch MMI touch screen. Especially for forward passengers, Audi completes the digital benefits with the 10-inch MMI screen for the passenger. The digital environment of the new Audi Q6 e-tron includes a new Head- Up Display enhanced reality corresponding to an optical field with a diagonal of approximately 88 inches. There is also Audi’s vocal “helper”, Audi Assistant, which features artificial intelligence technology and has the ability to train in the user’s behavior and needs. The new infotainment system first uses Android Automotive OS as an operating system. Content is always updated thanks to over-the-air updates. The Bang & Olufsen Premium sound system features a high performance amplifier, with 20 speakers and 830 watt power, with four of these speakers embedded in the front seat head restraints. Dynamic driving characteristics Most of the elements that make up the PPE platform are new and sophisticated for this purpose. Indicative is that there is a redesigned front axle. For the first time in an Audi model, the front suspension is with double scissors and the back with multiple links. Another new element is that the steering wheel is now based on a subframe. The sophisticated four-wheel drive system allows torque distribution more on the rear axle, stressing sport driving behavior. Characteristic is that the rear tires of Q6 e tron are wider than the front. Advanced driver assistance systems The model is supplied with a number of last generation assistance systems, including the “adaptive driving assist plus”, which in addition to the typical functions of a traffic lane maintenance system, uses high-resolution maps data and cluster data from other vehicles concentrated in the cloud to improve the safety offered by Q6 e-tron.
