Athens Stock Exchange: Small Fall for the General Index – Fall of shares in Europe

At the opening of today’s meeting (5.3.2024) , share prices record limited fluctuations , amid a mild movement of European markets. The Stock Exchange’s General Price Index at 11:00, is formed at 1,434.63 units with a marginal drop of 0.02%. The value of transactions is EUR 30.31 million. The high capitalization index is experiencing a marginal decline of 0.05%, while the mid-capitalization index is reinforced to 0.31%. Of the shares in high capitalization the largest rise is recorded by the shares of Quest Shareholders (+4,85%), Coca Cola HBC (+1.05%) and Titan (+0,96%). On the contrary, the largest decline is recorded by Piraeus shares (-1.04%), Aegean (-0.78%) and Autohellas (-0.73%). Uphill they move 46 shares, 27 jumpers and 13 remain stable. The largest increase is recorded by shares: Minerva + 5.38% Quest Shareholders + 4.85%, while the largest decline is recorded by shares: Plastic Crete -10.00% and Trastor -5.86%. On the foreign exchange market, the euro against the dollar shows a marginal decline of 0.07% and is set at $1.0852. The euro is at 163,1520 yen, 0.8558 with sterling and 0.9607 with the Swiss franc. The rate of the dollar falls marginally at 0.02% against the yen and is formed at 150.3950 yen. The sterling against the dollar is falling 0.13% and is formed at $1.2677. European shares fell today at the start of trade, following the decline in Asian shares, as China’s commitments to transform its economy failed to impress investors. The EU-wide STOXX 600 index dropped 0.2% at 10:10 Greek time. The shares of raw materials marked the biggest losses, with a decline of 1.1% due to the decrease in metal prices.
