Astypalea: “Hymnes” by British, French and Italian media for summer holidays

Or waiting for the first tourists of the season, with the bar in for another year, very high. In recent years arrivals have increased… A multitude of popular media from Britain, France and Italy propose Astypalea for real holidays in 2024 without mass tourism, with the efforts of the municipality to boost extroversion to find impact on markets within and outside Europe. “Discover the butterfly of the Aegean that is a real haven of peace and travelers call it the charm of authenticity”, points out in a recent article the French travel website Easy Voyage. Daily Telegraph includes Astypalea in the five well-hidden corners of Greece worth discovering this year, while special reference is made to the pioneering “green” project of the Greek government, Volkswagen and the municipality to transform the island into a model of sustainable development, throughout the Mediterranean. At the same time, the island has its honour in the new catalogue of the Italian Vanity Fair with the 23 most beautiful Greek islands, explaining that “with the new routes from Kos, the island is easily accessible allowing Astypalea to reveal to the Italians a whole new world”. It is noted that recently the “Egyptian butterfly” “satisfyed” professionals in Berlin during the ICB, the largest tourism exhibition in the world, as part of a special presentation organized by the German EOT Office with the support of the municipality. “Through continuous actions, Astypalea opens its wings and is revealed to the international travel audience that shows an increasing preference for exotic natural beauty, picturesque villages, tradition, gastronomy and sustainable innovations,” said Astypalea Mayor Nikos Komeneas.
