Arsen Venger’s idea of changing offside will be tested.

The International Football Council (IFAB) lit the “green light” in order to test its idea of a… new one. IFAB decided to approve the test of Arsen Venger’s novel idea regarding the offside regulation! We recall that Arsenal’s legendary coach – and in recent years FIFA’s head of development in world football – has recommended a few months ago that the regulation be adapted so that the attacker can only be counted offside if his entire body is ahead of the penultimate defender or the ball. This is a change that helps the team’s strikers and puts the defenders in a more difficult position, as with it they are lost” cm that can be determined in the marginal phases. The idea will be tested in practice in football academy championship games. The fact that there will be tests does not mean, of course, that the change will be adopted and that it will become an official rules of football. Please note that in its latest update, IFAB emphasises that the test of the new offside was done in K18 games in Italy, adding that the tests will continue.
