Anti-austerity General Strike Cripples Portugal
(RTTNews) – Normal life in Portugal is coming to a standstill on Wednesday, as public and private-sector workers joined the country’s biggest-ever strike in protest against the debt-ridden government’s austerity measures that will cut wages, pensions, and jobs drastically.

Farmers held a protest at the Greek parliament weeks after they blocked roads across Greece with their tractors. They are demanding government assistance. Without it, farmers say they will go out of business as prices drop and expenses such as gas and fertilizer increases. The farmers promised more protests in the futures.
