Profits fall by 17%, it was the German carrier Lufthansa in the second quarter of this year, as announced by the company today (2/8), attributing the fall to the impact of the terrorist attacks in Europe.
The net profit of the company for the period April-June 2016 amounted to € 437 million, slightly lower than the expectations of analysts, who had predicted an amount of eur 443 million.
“The terrorist attacks in Europe, but also the growing political and economic uncertainties have a tangible effect on the volume of passengers,” said the company’s ceo, Carsten Spohr.
He added, that “the future hold, particularly for long-haul services in Europe, have been significantly reduced”, anticipating a “difficult” second half of the year.
