ADE: The platform for ‘locking’ the extension for the POS-Cash interface opens on 15 March

With a statement of the appointment they have made with the technician for the following month, on the special platform that is due to operate next Friday (15.03. 24), the professionals will ‘lock’ the extension of the deadline until 30 April in order to complete their interconnection with the ERT without fines. On March 15, at the website of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (ADE) will open a new platform on which businesses that failed to book an appointment with a technician within March will be invited to declare that this appointment was booked for April. Through this process they will essentially guarantee the extension of the time limit for the interconnection of cash machines and POS until the end of April, removing the risk of fines of 10,000 -20,000 euros. The same time window is won by businesses that will declare on the POS Registry of ADE that they are going to replace their old cash with an All in one system (a device that works as cash and as a POS). At the same time, applications to the Digital Transactions Programme are extended until 19 March through which part of the purchase and interconnection costs of POS and a number of additional digital needs of an enterprise are covered. The receipt of a check (Voucher) covers those who have already purchased POS or have already made the interconnection cost, with the coupon acting as credit future charges from the provider or in some cases (depending on the provider) leading to an equal refund of money already paid. Any undertaking, if it meets the eligibility criteria, may receive a grant for more than one category. The categories are: • Category 1: Supply of new or replacement of existing EFT/POS. • Category 3: Downloading electronic billing & billing software provider services. • Category 4: Upgrading FTM & WE ARE for EFT/POS interconnection. • Category 5: Replacement of FTN, except catering operations. • Category 6: Replacement of FEMs (FIT or ADE or FAD) of catering operations. Time limits and fines After the extension for 1+1 month given by the Ministry of Finance for the interconnection of devices, the new dates are as follows: By 31 March 2024 the debtors should contact authorised cash machine installers in order to complete the process. However, the deadline may be extended for another month, i.e. until 30 April 2024: -for those businesses that failed to find an available appointment within March, but have a scheduled appointment with a technical facility within April. The appointments should be stated on the special platform. -for businesses that will declare on the POS Registry that they are going to replace their cash system with some of the new available solutions all in one that does not require additional interconnection actions. Where the POS is not connected with the cash machine within the binding deadlines, the debtors shall face a fine of EUR 10,000, provided that the firm is obliged to maintain a simplified accounting system or EUR 20,000, if it is obliged to maintain a double accounting system.
