A dramatic prediction: in 15 years the deaths from cancer will double

Nowadays, cancers are responsible for approximately 1/3 of deaths on an international level. According to data of the World Health Organization, in 2010, cancer caused 7.6 million deaths (around 21% of total deaths), a number expected to rise to about 13,1 million by 2030, making the disease one of the main causes of death throughout the world.
The above point to the professors of Pathology of the Democritus University of Thrace, Efstratios Maltezos, and of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Apostle Χατζητόλιος, on the occasion of the holding of the 2nd national Conference of Continuing Education in Internal medicine with International Participation, which organizes from 24 – 28 February 2016 in Thessaloniki, the Company internal Medicine of Northern Greece.
At the same time, emphasize that the contamination of the environment, air pollution, and smoking contribute to the increase of the respiratory – pulmonary diseases, with the result that highlighted these as the main cause of morbidity and mortality.
