The presence of the President of the Republic, Prokopis Pavlopoulos, the regional Governor Stavros Arnaoutakis, the representative of the Government of Andreas Blonde, the Presidents of the parties.D. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, PASOK Fofi Gennimata, Αντιπεριφερειαρχών, local authorities, institutions and large crowds, took place before the Liturgy in the historic Monastery of Arkadi which was presided over by the Archbishop of Crete mr. Irineos, honoring the 150th anniversary of the Holocaust of the historic Monastery.
The President of the Republic greeted at the entrance of the historic Monastery, the representative of the Government of Andreas Blonde, the regional Governor of Crete Stavros Arnaoutakis, the Mayor of Rethymno, George Marinakis, the vice governor of Rethymno Maria Lionis. Earlier on the main street Villa in Rethymno was a parade in the presence of the Minister of Andrew’s Blond, of the regional Governor Stavros Arnaoutakis, President of the PASOK Fofi Gennimata, the representatives of local Authorities, scientific-educational institutions of Security forces, agencies, etc.
“One hundred and fifty years since the historic anniversary of the Holocaust of Arkadi and the messages are timeless for freedom, for principles, values, ideals, for which today we have to fight even more. It is an ultimate act of heroism and self-sacrifice, a move that represented the will of an entire people, an act of resistance that does not just come from the top, but was imposed from the heart of the Cretan revolutionaries,” said after the parade for the historic anniversary, the Governor Stavros Arnaoutakis.
