25 March: Greek flag of one and a half acre waves imposing in the port of Heraklion

One and a half acre was raised in his port, on the occasion of the anniversary of 25 March 1821. The flag initiative in Heraklion belonged to businessman Theodoros Kalathakis, who once again wanted to express his pride in our ancestors who fought and sacrificed for freedom. “It is a celebration of joy and pride” noted Mr. Kalathakis, who added that “the size of the flag, is about the great soul of this people” and that the choice on each national anniversary to raise that flag, is another way “the sacrifice of our ancestors and our pride, to convey it to our children and grandchildren.” The enormous importance was raised with the help of a crane in the presence of a crowd of people.
