Zoe Konstantopoulou Refuses to Share Momentum – What About Cooperation with Kassellakis?

The impressions created by the statement at the founding conference of her party, when referring to her collaboration with Pleusi Eleftherias, were clarified yesterday (11.05.2025) by Zoe Konstantopoulou. It appears she does not intend to share the momentum she consistently records in all polls. ‘Our intention is clear,’ she said, emphasizing the plan to gather as many MPs as possible to propose a pre-investigation committee targeting not only Karamanlis and transport ministers but also other government figures, including Mitsotakis for his direct responsibility in the Tempi tragedy. Stefanos Kassellakis, who previously aligned with SYRIZA, has now partnered with Konstantopoulou to approach Greek Solution and Niki aiming to secure the necessary votes for a pre-investigation committee on the Tempi issue. Despite ideological differences, Kassellakis justified this move stating that after extensive discussions, Konstantopoulou adopted their prepared indictments. Together, they aim to create a Justice Front both inside and outside Parliament. This alliance aims to hold accountable all politicians, including the Prime Minister himself, as demanded by the victims’ families. Political observers note that this agreement was deemed necessary due to the declining poll numbers of Kassellakis’s new political formation. The President of Movement Democracy emphasized the corruption within Greece’s political system, criticizing ND, PASOK, and SYRIZA as three faces of the same corrupt system, calling for radical change.
