Zoe Konstantopoulou has responded to what she calls the “masters of cover-ups and smears” amid attacks she says she is facing in relation to the train tragedy case. Recently targeted by the government, which accused her of toxicity and “vileness” regarding the Tempi issue, Konstantopoulou countered with strong statements asserting that “in response to their smear and lies, we only fight for truth and justice.” Referring to the controversy surrounding the Tempi incident, she highlighted allegations about illegal substances being transported by a freight train whose driver was allegedly volunteering at Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ office. The government spokesperson accused the president of Flight to Freedom of extreme vileness and disrespect for the dead to gain political leverage. Tensions escalated further as Adonis Georgiadis from New Democracy directly criticized her for these accusations. In her detailed statement, Konstantopoulou emphasized standing with citizens against toxicity and cover-ups, declaring herself the voice of Greek society’s truth. She also addressed claims from so-called ‘masters of concealment’ accusing her and victims’ families of delaying the trial, pointing out public support demonstrated during the March 28 Constitution Square rally.
