Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the USA and Donald Trump for his visit to Washington, despite an unprecedented attack on the White House. In a post on X following his impromptu meeting with Donald Trump, Zelenskyy wrote that he is working towards a ‘fair and lasting peace’ in Ukraine. ‘Thank you America, thank you for the support, thank you for this visit. Thank you to the president, Congress, and the American people,’ he wrote on X. ‘Ukraine needs a fair and lasting peace, and we are working exactly for that,’ added the Ukrainian president. It is worth noting that Zelenskyy hastily departed from the White House, with the press conference expected to be held jointly with the American president being canceled. This followed intense conflict between the two leaders during their meeting.
