Zelenskyy Accuses Putin of Playing with Human Lives Amid Easter Truce Announcement

In a sharp rebuke to Russian President Vladimir Putin following Moscow’s announcement of a unilateral Easter ceasefire, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized the move as another attempt to manipulate human lives. Writing on X, Zelenskyy stated that unmanned Shahed drones over Ukrainian skies revealed Putin’s true stance on Easter and human life. Despite this, Ukrainian forces continue to hold positions in Russia’s Kursk region and have expanded control in the Belgorod area. However, Kyiv remains skeptical about trusting Putin’s words regarding the ceasefire, emphasizing that actions speak louder than words. Meanwhile, both sides exchanged prisoners of war, with Ukraine welcoming back 277 soldiers. The U.S., meanwhile, is reportedly considering recognizing Russian control over Crimea as part of broader peace negotiations.
