Zakynthos: Fires Erupt in Neratzoules and Agios Nikolaos

An emergency response is underway as two fires broke out midday on Friday (07.03.2025). The fires on Zakynthos are burning through agricultural and forested areas, prompting a large-scale mobilization of firefighting resources. The first fire occurred in the Neratzoules area near the town of Zakynthos, while the second ignited on the northern side of the island in the Agios Nikolaos region. In both cases, significant firefighting forces have been deployed. Fortunately, no residential areas are currently at risk from either of the fires.
