You want to have a good memory? This is the trick to get it

If anyone wants to remember something you learned, then you will be helped significantly, if…
four hours after sweating at the gym!
This shows a new Dutch scientific research, in accordance with which a very good strategy to stimulate one’s memory is to be exercised physically about four hours later.
The researchers, led by Guillen Φερντάντεζ of the Medical Centre of the University of Ράντμπουντ, who made the relevant publication in the prestigious international journal of biology “Current Biology”, they experimented with 72 volunteers.
Participants were asked to memorize various things, and then were randomly separated into three groups: one exercised physically immediately, the second after four hours and the third was not exercised at all.
After two days, the volunteers were examined for how much they remembered of what they had learned, while magnetic imaging (MRI) of the brain.
It was found that, of the three groups, it excelled the second which had been lodged with a delay of four hours. The brain imaging confirmed that the members of this group had better functioning of the hippocampal region which is important for memory and learning.
“Our findings show that the appropriate timing of physical exercise can improve long-term memory, and highlights the importance of using exercise as an intervention in educational and clinical field”, stressed the researchers.
It remains, however, unclear how and why the exercise with a lag has a positive effect on memory. Previous studies in animals have shown, however, that the substances of catecholamines in the body, which include dopamine and norepinephrine, when found in elevated levels, can improve memory. One way to increase the catecholamines, is through physical exercise.
The issue will be studied further by researchers to determine what is the ideal time “window” during which to be practiced for the improvement of memory.
