Yoga Teacher Ignited Three Cars in One Month

Ten years ago, a yoga instructor carried out her first arson attack. In the past month, she planted explosive devices in vehicles belonging to relatives after they refused to lend her money. Her first arrest occurred in February 2016 in Nea Erythrea for arson and property damage. Months later, she targeted her own family—setting fire to her father’s car. She later posted online the acquittal decision of the Mixed Jury Court. Following these incidents, she distanced herself from her family, whose relationship with her had severely deteriorated. Both parents had previously filed police reports citing her aggressive behavior, verbal abuse, and threats when denied financial requests. Within one month, she struck three more times—in Metamorfosi on January 17 (damaging a building and destroying a car), in Nea Erythrea on January 23 (causing an explosion and burning the vehicle owner with severe burns requiring four days of hospitalization), and in Kifissia on January 29 (completely incinerating another car, narrowly avoiding wider fire spread thanks to rapid Fire Brigade intervention). She was arrested and remanded into custody.
