A significant police presence rushed to Ymittos in Athens early Saturday morning (July 4, 2026) after passersby discovered a man hanged from a tree outside a church.
The man’s body was found in the courtyard of the Church of Saint Mark on Mount Ymittos. According to reports, a note was found beside him.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death is underway. As of now, the man’s identity has not been disclosed, and Greek police are examining all possible scenarios as part of their preliminary inquiry.
