Managing corporate travel and employee business expenses can quickly become a major headache for businesses—especially when processes are fragmented and lack a centralised system. Travelr, a Greek tech company operating in the corporate travel sector since 2017, aims to solve this challenge. In an interview with newsit.gr, Yannis Dinapoyias, founder and CEO of Travelr, explains that the company’s work rests on three core pillars: corporate travel management, expense management, and employee benefits administration.
AI-Powered Travel Management
Travelr’s platform leverages Artificial Intelligence and big data analytics to streamline and optimise how companies plan, book, and track business trips. Dinapoyias notes that employees often cover travel-related costs—including transport and accommodation—out of pocket and are reimbursed later after submitting receipts. This traditional process tends to generate administrative overhead and inefficiencies, which Travelr seeks to eliminate through its integrated digital solution.
“Airline tickets, hotels, car rentals, ferry bookings, banking integrations, and third-party service providers are all unified into a single system where employees, managers, and executives see the same real-time data. It’s a ‘single source of truth’—removing ambiguity caused by siloed systems and the time and financial losses they entail,” Dinapoyias explains.
A Growing Market, A Local Innovation
Globally, the corporate travel market is valued at around $2 trillion. Travelr helps clients reduce travel package costs by up to 25% while significantly cutting down administrative time. One of its latest innovations is TravelrPay.com—a payment application that unifies corporate cards with employee reward programmes. According to the company, it’s the first Travel Expense & Benefits Superapp launched in Greece—and among the first of its kind worldwide.
Vision for the Next Five Years
Looking ahead, Dinapoyias envisions Travelr becoming the go-to platform for corporate travel, expense, card, and benefits management across Southern Europe. Built by software engineers in Athens, the platform targets a market with no ceiling—where digitisation is still accelerating and demand for smarter, end-to-end solutions continues to grow.
