In a recent interview with Buongiorno and Rania Theodorakopoulou, renowned actress and theater writer Xenia Kalogeropoulou opened up about her life journey. She expressed her struggles with vision loss due to macular degeneration, saying, “When I started not seeing well, I felt hopeless and unfortunate. I said that I didn’t want and couldn’t live like this.” Despite the challenges, she remains grateful for what she can still do. This year, she stars in the theatrical play ‘The Humans’ at the Moussouris Theater. Kalogeropoulou fondly recalls her childhood memories of visiting the same theater to watch performances by Lampe. Regarding her acting career during the golden era of Greek theater and cinema, she described it as demanding yet rewarding. Reflecting on her late husband, she poignantly mentioned missing him deeply and experiencing his presence in dreams. At 88 years old, she concludes, “I dream. No one can live without dreams.”
