On Friday evening (03.10.2025), a 27-year-old Turkish national was arrested by Greek police in Xanthi on charges of possessing and trafficking a large number of firearms. Following intelligence analysis and months of investigation, the Northern Greece Sub-Directorate against Organized Crime identified the suspect’s activities and launched a coordinated operation. He was located and apprehended at a short-term rental property. During searches conducted in the presence of a prosecutor, authorities discovered 25 pistols along with magazines, €950, a mobile phone, a device packaging, three mobile connectivity packages, a vehicle key, and other items. The vehicle he used was seized as a means of committing criminal acts. The weapons will be sent to the Northern Greece Forensic Examination Unit for laboratory analysis. The suspect has been brought before the competent prosecutor, while investigations into his network and activities continue.
