As Mr. Panagiotopoulos said, given the situation and after the morning meeting at the Maximos Palace under the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, it was decided the active participation of the army in the effort to deal with and prevent fires.
The Minister of National Defense noted that the Armed Forces will participate by all means, with continuous patrols of forces and in consultation with the Police and the Civil Protection.
He went on to say that “from now on, drone and aircraft surveillance will be carried out, while fire safety patrols will be doubled in affected areas and high-risk areas. “Drones and helicopters will fly across the country to prevent fires.”
