Winter Olympic Heroes Come Alive at Golden Hall

The Athens Olympic Museum invites children on an exciting journey of learning, play, and creativity through its new interactive children’s activity, ‘Winter Olympic Heroes’, launching Friday, February 6, in a specially designed space at Golden Hall. Inspired by the Winter Olympic Games and the upcoming Milano-Cortina 2026 edition, the activity brings the magic of winter sports closer to children via hands-on, immersive experiences. Participants explore key facts about the history and disciplines of the Winter Olympics, test their skills in a curling challenge, and join an art workshop dedicated to this year’s official mascots, Tina & Milo. Each participation includes a free child ticket to the Museum’s Permanent Exhibition—allowing kids to continue their exploration and discover the rich legacy of the Winter Games. In the Permanent Exhibition, visitors can view historic posters and artifacts from past Winter Olympics, take photos with the Beijing 2022 Olympic Torch, and trace the evolution of sports, mascots, and torchbearer uniforms over time. Visitors of all ages can also try on alpine ski boots, admire vintage 1940s skis, and connect fun with learning—experiencing Olympism in a vibrant, participatory way. ‘Winter Olympic Heroes’ runs until March 7, 2026, every Friday (5–9 PM) and Saturday (12–6 PM) at Golden Hall, Level +1. The Athens Olympic Museum continues to craft meaningful, modern experiences that bring young generations closer to Olympic values—bridging history, sport, and creativity.
