Wildfire in Rafina – 112 Alert – Marathon Avenue Closed

A wildfire is currently raging in Rafina, with the front moving towards Spata, dangerously close to residential areas. The fire originated from low vegetation on Marathon Avenue near Arios Street. On-site, 90 firefighters have been deployed, including 6 teams of ground crews, 15 vehicles, volunteers, two planes, and three helicopters. Residents in the areas of Agia Kyriaki, Eto Styko, and Imeros Peukos have received an alert via the emergency 112 service urging them to evacuate through Agia Kyriaki towards Marathon Avenue, heading to Artemida Stadium. Due to the fire, traffic on Marathon Avenue has been suspended in both directions.
