A wildfire broke out on Friday afternoon (04/07/2025) in the forested area of Mesochoria, Evia, prompting an immediate response from firefighting forces. According to the fire department, the blaze started in a wooded region and is being fueled by strong winds, complicating suppression efforts. Firefighters have rushed to the scene from Aliveri, Karystos, and Chalkida, deploying 54 firefighters, 16 vehicles, 3 ground teams, 14 aircraft, and 4 helicopters. So far, the fire does not threaten residential areas.
