Wildfire in Ancient Olympia Area – Strong Winds Fuel Flames

The region of Kamenah in Ancient Olympia is currently facing a rapidly spreading wildfire that broke out on Friday afternoon (04.07.2025). The flames have grown uncontrollably due to the strong winds sweeping through the area. The fire initially started on an agricultural plot with olive trees, but quickly spread to the nearby forest, prompting a large-scale response from emergency services using both ground and aerial resources. The situation remains alarming as the fire continues to reignite and create new hotspots, complicating efforts to contain it. At least three active fronts are being tackled by robust firefighting forces on the ground, supported by continuous reinforcements arriving at the scene. Aerial support has now joined the effort, including an Erickson helicopter and Air Tractor aircraft conducting water drops to assist in controlling the blaze.
