Wildfire Breaks Out Near Pyrgi, Lesbos – Authorities Respond

The Fire Service was alerted on Saturday (21.06.2025) about a wildfire in the Pyrgi area of Lesbos. Firefighting vehicles from the Lesbos Fire Department are already en route to extinguish the blaze. Local residents and visitors have been advised by Civil Protection to remain ready and follow official instructions. The fire is burning through an olive grove near the beach. Efforts to control the wildfire involve 22 firefighters with two ground teams from the 12th Forest Fire Brigade, five firefighting vehicles, two aircraft, and one helicopter.
