A wildfire broke out in an agricultural-forestry area near Ammoudes on the Greek island of Rhodes on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at midday.
The Hellenic Fire Service responded immediately, deploying 30 firefighters—including a foot patrol unit from the 11th Emergency Response Unit (EMODE), volunteers, nine vehicles, three aircraft, and one helicopter. Water-dropping operations are underway.
