Wildfire Breaks Out in Velanidi, Elis Amid Strong Winds

A wildfire erupted on Monday afternoon (March 24, 2025) in a forested area in the Velanidi region of the Municipality of Ilida in Elis. Firefighters rushed to the scene with 30 personnel, including two teams of ground units from the 6th Forest Firefighting Unit and eight vehicles. According to initial reports, no settlement is currently threatened by the fire; however, strong winds are making the firefighting efforts challenging.
