Wild Car Chase and Collision with Taxi in Chalkida

Scenes reminiscent of a police action movie unfolded on Thursday evening (08.05.2025) in Chalkida. The driver of a BMW attempted to flee from the Crime Prevention and Suppression Team (OPKE), leading to an intense pursuit. According to information from eviathema.gr, the chase began in Lianí Ammos, outside Chalkida, where a serious accident was narrowly avoided as the BMW ran through signals and drove dangerously towards the city center. During the wild chase, the BMW collided with a passing taxi, causing material damage but no reported injuries. The pursuit continued at high speeds through the streets of Chalkida, with at least three police stations coordinating efforts. The final immobilization of the BMW occurred on Neofytou Street, where OPKE officers managed to arrest the driver and seize the vehicle. The driver was taken to the Evia Police Directorate, where they are being held.
